Autism is a common behavioral disorder that can significantly impact a child’s success in social settings and academic environments. While there is not a cure for autism, there are many highly researched behavioral techniques that can allow individuals with autism to adapt and change problematic behaviors for more positive future growth. Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy, for example, is a widely adapted discipline in managing autism which creates an understanding of behaviors and the way they are affected by environmental changes in both a physical and social sense.
We begin our ABA therapy program with a comprehensive assessment of the child's skills and abilities. This includes a review of the child's medical and developmental history, as well as direct observation and testing to determine their strengths and areas of need.
Our ABA therapy program consists of one-on-one therapy sessions with a trained ABA therapist. These sessions are designed to provide intensive, focused instruction and support to help the child achieve their treatment goals.
Our ABA therapy program is overseen by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) who provides ongoing supervision and support to the ABA therapists. This ensures that our program is of the highest quality and that our therapists are delivering effective treatment to every child.
We believe that parental involvement is essential to the success of our ABA therapy program. As such, we provide ongoing training and support to parents and caregivers to help them reinforce the skills and behaviors learned during therapy sessions.
During each therapy session, the ABA therapist collects data on the child's progress and uses this information to adjust the treatment plan as needed. This allows us to continually monitor and improve the effectiveness of the therapy.
Based on the assessment results, we develop an individualized treatment plan that is tailored to the child's specific needs and goals. This includes specific objectives for improving communication, social skills, self-help skills, and reducing problem behaviors.
